Dentons, one of the largest international law firms, partnered with The Selection Lab to improve their candidate selection process using advanced assessments. This collaboration led to significant improvements in hiring quality and valuable insights for future recruitment strategies. Candidates completed assessments that mapped their competencies, motives, and cultural preferences.
The analysis of assessments and the performance of hired candidates revealed the following insights. Approximately 32% of candidates were hired, 77% of whom performed above or at average levels.
A striking insight was that candidates who scored higher on morality, self-control, and enthusiasm performed significantly better in their roles. Additionally, a preference for a dynamic and innovative work environment strongly correlated with success.
Dentons already achieved a +13.5% improvement in the quality-of-hire ratio. Leveraging data analysis enabled the refinement of the role profile for lawyers, with a clear focus on helpfulness, personal growth, and professional development.
With this information Dentons aims to further fine-tune the role profile and introduce new tools to enhance the prediction of candidate quality.
By using The Selection Lab's assessments, Dentons not only streamlined their selection process but also attracted better-performing candidates. This case demonstrates how data-driven insights can elevate recruitment strategies to the next level.
